You Were Spiraling is a New Jersey based modern rock outfit formed by keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter Tom Brislin. He's joined by bassist/vocalist Bob Hart, guitarist/vocalist J.P. Doherty, and Jason Pharr on drums. They have also occasionally enlisted the instrumental talents of Sylvia Mincewicz on electric violin and Brian Dewan on electric zither.

You Were Spiraling has played live extensively in the New York metropolitan area. Highlights include: appearances at New York's Mercury Lounge and The Knitting Factory. They are regulars in New Jersey's New Brunswick local music scene, and were featured at the 1997 Philadelphia music conference. They have also performed several dates in support of modern rock legends, "They Might Be Giants."

You Were Spiraling has two recordings available on CD. Their involvement with "They Might Be Giants" piqued the attention of TMBG guitarist John Flansburgh, who distributed the band's latest release, "The Hello CD", on his label, Hello Recording Club, in 1997. The Hello CD received numerous favorable reviews and considerable college radio air play upon its release. You Were Spiraling is currently searching for that 'open-minded A&R department' to help bring it's unique rock style to the masses. In the meantime, Brislin doubles as the piano player for rock icon Meat Loaf and pop songwriter Glen Burtnick. He has already toured England, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands as well as making TV appearances on VH-1 Storytellers, The TonightShow with Jay Leno and on the Comedy Central network.
