MeatLoaf Robe
Miriam's Story

My prized MeatLoaf possession is a white MeatLoaf robe, that was sent to me by Patti Russo. Now you are probably wondering why Patti sent me this robe. So I will do my best to tell you the events, that lead up to Patti sending me the robe.

Back in January 1997, I was able to video tape MeatLoaf Performing at the Inaugural Ball for President Clinton. A few days later I chatted online with Patti Russo for the first time. I told her how I got to see her with Meat at the ball on TV (I live right next to Washington DC), and that I video taped it. Patti told me that her Mom had been flipping stations all night, hoping to see Patti (at the Ball) on TV. But to no luck. Patti then asked if I would make her a copy of the video. Of course I said "YES". When I sent the video to her I also enclosed a few small gifts. One of these gifts was a pie plate (that I received for my wedding 5 month before). A couple months later in an Email Patti told me how her Mom had been visiting & loved the pie plate. After her Mom went home Patti said she had to check & make sure her Mom didn't sneak it home in her suitcase. The same day I got this Email I had joined a recipe club, which sends new members a pie plate as a Thank You. In no time I knew what I was gonna do with this new pie plate (as I don't like them). I told Patti I was going to send it to her as a gift for her Mom from me. When it arrived I sent it to Patti to give to her Mom. After Patti got it she Emailed me saying she wanted to reimburse me for the postage. The next day we talked online & I told her it was not necessary for her to reimburse me. And that I didn't expect it. But she insisted & told me to give her my address. So I relented. I asked that instead of reimbursing me to send me something instead. She said girl stuff or Meat stuff. I told her to surprise me.

On June 27, 1997 I received my surprise from Patti. As I was bringing it up to my apartment the guy in the elevator must have thought I was nuts. Because I started to open the package in the elevator. When I got in my apartment I took it out of the box & started jumping. The next thing I did was smell the robe (Please don't ask me WHY). The robe is white with Meatloaf written in gold.
