Daniel tells us about one day, not too long ago,
and helps us realize what in exciting time this is!!!!!

"What a Meaty day...

First, during my lunch break today I visited a local CD store that just opened, and found "Heaven And Hell". This is quite a find--I can *never* find anything from Meat in this area, other than his biggest sellers (Bat 1 and 2). Although the CD doesn't contain anything I hadn't heard before, what the hell, it's a collector's item...

Second, when I got home after work, my Storytellers CD came in from CDNow.com... Yes!!

Third... I've had meat loaf for dinner. :-) Seriously. On the other hand, I'm not too fond of the food, but I thought nonetheless the coincidence was rather unusual...

Anyway... I have some serious listening to do."

To top it off, Daniel mentions he found 'To Hell And Back' the very next day!!!

Lightning Force : M.I.A

  • For those of you who do not know of "Lightning Force" , it was a TV Series filmed in Canada ,in which Meat Loaf appeared in. Meat Loaf was in a two part special called M.I.A. It is about a man who is an MIA , and had been held prisoner in Laos in the Jungle for many years (The MIA played by Meat Loaf). And The Lightning Force , a group of anti terrorists in which the show revolves around , go to rescue him. But when they get there they find out that he is so strung out on dope that he is partially crazy , but sad. Although he plans to help the boss of the city (General Seng played by George Takei) kill the force , they make him face up to the truth , he must get out of the jungle town with them and get away from General Seng. I found the Meat Loaf episodes very sad and disturbing near the end. But it was an excellent performance Meat Loaf portrayed as the drug abusing , former Lieutenent Richard Talbot. Ted

The Lying Dutchman
  • Tonight Meat was on Dutch Tv in a program called the lying dutchman. The anchorman of the show talks his way into an interview with celebrities by giving fake awards (Meat won the Keurslager award what means "controlled butcher") and make an ass out of them. He asked Meat where that he got his name from and Meat answered by saying he was brought home out of the hospital in a box (when he was born) because he was soooo big. At home they saw the side of the box saying "Meat Loaf TV dinners". Another question was that meat must be hating Pbtdl by now and if he would turn a radio off if he would hear it, but no, Meat loves the song and would always put the volume up

    Meat 2-0

    it was great

    Coen
Conan O'Brian
  • What a great sho! Meat looked absolutely fabulous in his black suit....even his new hair looked great (I'm a long hair lover!!!)!! He was hysterically funny, with new stories to tell about the filming of "Fight Clud" as well as a new story about how he got his name!!! Then, I imagine Conan couldn't resist the scene with the "Rocket"...a basebal player, I believe from the Mets, but I laughed till I cried!! Frankly, I believe it's one of the best spots Meat has done in a while! For having just been sick (stomach flu or food poisioning), he looked great, ad seemed raring to go!!!!
The View
  • Excellent, excellent appearance by Meat! He handled himself perfectly, in spite of Barbara Walter's renouned "I want to make you cry on TV" questions. He claimed he would have trouble singing so early in the morning, but I do believe this TV performance of "Two Out Of Three" and "Anything For Love" are among the best I have ever heard. UNFORTUNATELY, The View cut him off in the middle of "Anything For Love", and THAT was a real heartbreaker! But Meat, himself, was absolutely wonderful!!...Vee

Letterman
  • Letterman was AWESOME!!! When the song first started I thought "hey what's this?" and then I remembered it was Lawyers, Guns, and Money. Meat was so incredible. I too was glad that they put the spotlight on Pearl because it really is rare to find a father/daughter team in rock-n-roll. Meat was remarkably funny and I loved the story about his favorite concussion. I just wish that there had been more time to talk...LeeAnn
  • I taped Meat's appearance on Letterman last night (99/09/15)...he was great!! I was wondering at first what the heck he was singing... (I'm still waiting for my copy of Storytellers--CDNow says it's on its way!!) I enjoyed the fact they put the spotlight on Pearl a bit... I think it's so cool to have a father/daughter act together... Anyone can think of any other music group with a father/daughter? When I find time, I'll videocapture the Letterman segments as MPG files and burn them on CD (tapes wear out, and are too easy to erase by mistake)... Unfortunately, my reception is on the poor side, and the picture is a bit grainy. But, it's still worth keeping around...Daniel

  • Hard Rock Live definitely rocked!!! I missed the premire due to being out of town getting ready to head to Chicago for the book signing, but I got it on tape and watched it as soon as I got back. I really loved Paradise. Meat and Patti perform so well together. My 4 year old even sat and watched the whole thing with me. He really enjoys listening to Meat and was disappointed when it was over. I wish there had been time for more songs, but that's life. I can't wait to go see him in concert this Dec. Meat was AWESOME!!!...LeeAnn
  • Hello all!!! I just wanted to say that the show was great!!!! I just wish it would have been longer than 5 songs, but it was fantastic!!!!! ...RENEE
  • Hey to all of my fellow Meat fans from Purdue University!!! I stayed up last night and Watch Meat on Hard Rock Live and it was great. I am listening to "Bat out of Hell" right now on a computer. It sounds just as good here as on my cd-player in my dorm room. It seems like the rest of you were busy last this weekend. I just checked my e-mail and I had 60 new messages and it was from all of you guys. This is the best people I would love to be around. If all of us got together, we would listen to Meat all night long(if we lived close together, that would not be a bad idea) Well, I have to go, so little time, so many more e-mail's to write. Talk to you all later.... Gary
Good Morning America
  • The one thing that always impresses me about Meat Loaf as he is interviewed is how genuine he is. He has no airs about him. He's just the man he is and doesn't make a big deal about it. He's honest and open, always polite to his host/hostess. The interview with Diane Sawyer really brought this home to me. His sincerity always touches me. And though he may not think himself as being a hero-type figure, he DEFINITELY is to me!... Connie

Met God Himself in Rockville

Before I had shipped out of DC, I had heard on the very day that he was appearing in Rockville, MD (one of those great twists of luck that makes you sure there is a god out there besides him). Well, I jumped into my favorite T-shirt
LOAF
------
STEINMAN
'2000
and got my butt out to that Tower records that you have pictured here. Mr. Loaf dug the shirt, and had several pictures of us taken together. He said that Jim had to see this for himself. He also confided in me, no promises, that he would try to get a copy sent my way eventually. Well, here's still waiting. But all I really wanted was to shake the hand of the man that I admire most. And get an autographed book for mom.
As a sidenote, it is one of my pet-peeves when meeting a person, and that person squeezes your fingers bloody but never allows your actual hand into theirs. Mr. Loaf was not the case. I was preparing myself to just thrust my hand into his grip, if need be. I would have just been DAMNED if the man I admired most was going to do that to me. A pleasant surprise, he has a very gentle handshake. Whoah, change of course in mind shake......
What a night.
What else can one boy say? After being hand in hand, eye to eye, and witty comment to witty comment with God Himself, what else can one boy say?

Oxford Book Signing

Well after an 11 hour round trip, I got to meet the man. A lady in front told him she came from Kansas. He then sung a song I don't know, but I guess others will. It goes, give me a train, a plane, but just get me to Kansas. (something like that ). What a voice. When it was our turn, he asked 'Do you like me bear', and pointed to a teddy bear that he had been given. At this point he knocked the bear off the table. I said that you have killed him, but Meat replied 'No Bears are pretty indestructible'. We spent two or three minutes with him, had two CDs and my book signed. Meat noticed that my book had a red insert (it came from the US) and the others were white. He asked where I got it from. My sister-in-law (Sarah) and I had a photo taken with him. Meat made Sarah sit on his table for the photo. I suspect Sarah is now MSL, so I will have to watch her.
I have had my photos developed today, and I have about 5 good ones, out of nine. There was a lady behind us, if she remembers the woman with the American book, mail me because one of my photos has a really good shot of her on it, and I will send a copy. Also when I have time, I will scan my photos in if any one wants a copy.
What was a shame, was that there were not many people there. We waited for 30 minutes to see him, when we left there was very few people left.

The lady with the dark hair sitting on the table
is my sister-in-law Sarah. I am in the green
jumper next to her. I have no idea who the lady
behind me is, but she was very nice.

Meat Loaf and Heidi!!

Heidi

Cleveland book signing

I met Meat Loaf at the Cleveland (actually Westlake) book signing on September 19. It was fantastic!!! I met him in November of 95 ( I was 14 at the time) and I cried SOOOO hard. I don't really know why, but it was just all sorts of emotions--mostly happiness. I thought that now that I am 18 and more mature, I wouldn't cry. I told myself I wouldn't. But it happened again. I was bawling my eyes out. I am sure I scared the bejeebers out of Meat, but I really tried hard not to.
So the first thing Meat says when he sees me is "ARE YOU OK?" and I just keep crying. I hand him my book and C.D. and he starts to clear off the chair next to him. Then he tells me to come around the table to sit next to him. So who am I to argue?! I do, all the while crying, and people are laughing at me cause I looked really stupid. He asks me again if I am ok and I tell him I have never been better b/c I really haven't!! He laughed and then asked me my name. I told him it was Heidi and he leans over and whispers "How do you spell Heidi?" So I tell him and he starts to write in my book. He took a really long time ( I found out later why ) and then he said that if we were gonna take a picture, we would either both have to stop crying or we would both have to cry. I couldn't stop, so he pretended to cry with me and he put his head on my shoulder and they took the picture!!! It was great. I laughed and cried at the same time (which you can see in the picture--I look stupid)!
Then he signed my C.D and I told him to have a happy bday. He said thanks and told me to have a happy bday too. So I left and when I looked at the book he signed, it said "To Heidi Love Meat Loaf." It was the greatest day of my life. And as soon as I get home from college, I can scan the pics so you guys will all believe me!!! That won't be until Thanksgiving or Christmastime. Sorry!!

Booksigning - Maryland

Well, what can I say?! Meeting Meat Loaf was a long-awaited dream come true! Every second spent in line waiting was worth it! My husband, Jeff, and I talked about it for days BEFORE it happened, and for days AFTER!! In fact, I'm still talking about!
I share it with anyone who will lend an ear. Meat Loaf is not only a highly talented performer, he is a gentleman. He is so gracious with his fans, and you have to imagine how rough it must really be doing a circuit like he did with this booksigning. As many others have said, Meat makes you feel so welcome.
And to me, that is a true sign of being a genuinely warm person.
I hope everyone's experience was as great as ours. I'm looking forward to seeing Meat in concert in a couple of months - my tickets are safely put away till then!
My Review of The Chicago Booksigning

By : C.P. Dani

What a night to remember! However,I would like to go back and redo most of it. The reason why, I totally embarrassed Myself! I feel so bad too. ( I am really sorry Meat!). Let me start from the begining, I got out of school at 12:30 so I can go downtown Chicago. Once there I found out where the booksigning was at and traveled to the third floor at Borders. Once I got there I met SGT. Wezzie, Jan, Nattalie, and LeeAnn. We talked for a couple of hours while we were waiting. At approx. 5:40pm, the Borders staff started playing Storytellers CD over and over. At 6pm my mom told me that Meat was there. I ran to the window to see Meat getting out of his Limo! Meat made his way upstairs and down the aisle. That's when I lost it. I went to balling my eyes out. Wezzie told me to behave myself. I made my way to the table and Meat asked me if I was ok? I said yes and he asked my name. I replied Danielle. I thanked the man for saving my life and that turned him speechless. He asked what he did and i told him that he had stopped me from running away. He said he was glad to help.
I got in a picture with him and gave him my handmade birthday card. Another thing that brightened my day was being able to help out Natalie with Meat. I wish that I didn't react the way I did and feel so bad about it. But I will be grateful that I did fulfill one dream...... Th Thank the Man for saving my life. I'm so sorry Meat, once again.
Love Always

Hi!! I am a professional wrestler, as well as a Meat Loaf fan! I was one of the first in line for pictures at the September 19th book signing in Cleveland. I am attaching a copy of the picture my brother took of me with Meat Loaf!!! I must say we are both looking great!! I have met many people over the years who are "stars" but none any more pleasant and accommodating to their fans than Meat.

    ..a personal note from Vee..
You can E-Mail COLONEL PERKINS by CLICKING HERE!!. If you like wrestling, this is a MUST!!!! The Colonel has worked with many of the "Stars" in the wrestling business today, both in the WCW and the WWF. He also has his own promotion called "Mammoth International Wrestling".

My friend JP and I drove for three hours and were 6th and 7th in line. The people at Borders were absolutely teriffic. We met some folks in line that had driven for 16 hours to meet "THE MAN".If you see this, Hi, Jesse and Colonel! I was shaking and felt sick and elated at the same time. When Meat came into the store it didn't seem real. The first girl in line told him it was her birthday, and he had us all sing for her. When I heard that wonderful, huge voice,I just smiled and cried at the same time. He was gracious and kind and signed my concert hat and JP's BOH album. When we were finished I ran around back and had JP take my picture in front of his limo. All in all, one of my best days ever! I guess Rock and Roll dreams do come through.

This was my first encounter with the man known as "Meat" and I was duly impressed. The store kept everyone patiently waiting by passing out rice krispy treats and playing the Storytellers CD, this appealed to both the children AND the parents!

Meat was charming, and looks wonderful. He took the time to talk to everyone in line without rushing, especially with the kids. He had quite the animated discussion with my teen daughter about "parents being stupid" apparently this was something she thought she could relate to . Cant wait for the tour, this was a nice warm up for it.

Hello everybody! Seeing Meat was so much fun!! I got to meet a lot of very nice people in line, and I seen some people who I haven't seen in over a year there! When Meat came up to the table, some people didn't even recognize him! lol! He was very nice, and he went out of his way for his handicapped fans which I thought was very nice of him. He even stayed an extra 35 minutes to make sure all of his fans got autographs. I got my book and cd signed, and I got my picture taken with him! I talked with a guy from Harper Collins, and a blonde lady who worked with Meat (Anyone know who she is?) The blonde was very nice, and we talked for about 20 minutes. The day was absolutely wonderful!!! I gave him a birthday card and a picture from 5 years ago when I first met him and he thanked me and told me he liked to receive pictures from his fans because usually he signs them, never gets to keep them. He was in great spirits, and he even sang with a few of his fans! It was so much fun! Any questions, feel free to e-mail me! -Renee

WOW!!!! AWESOME!!!! TERRIFIC!!!! The book signing with Meat Loaf in Chicago was so COOL!!! As Weezie said, I was BREATHLESS!!!! We were able to watch as Meat Loaf walked up the aisle to get to the table that they had set up for him. They had placed flowers on the table for his birthday. The first thing he did after the press finished with their photos was to sit down and read the card that went with the flowers. Then the fun began. During the wait before Meat arrived and during the signing we were treated to Storytellers being played over and over. I was within the first 30 people in line. I waited in line for about 2 hours with my 4 year old son, Aaron. Finally our turn came to have our books signed. My friend, Monica, her son, Jarod (3), and my daughter Linda (21 months) had already passed in front of him in order to wait on me, Aaron, and Monica's son, Will (8) to have our time with Meat. It was so incredible. He signed my books and chatted with us abou!

t where we were from and how far we had driven to get there. I was so nervous about how I would react to actually getting to meet Meat, but he made you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him and made you comfortable with him. Meat talked to both Will and Aaron which made Will's day completely. He was so thrilled that Meat would actually take the time to talk to him. I was just amazing at how relaxed the entire atmosphere was and how relaxed Meat made everyone feel.

Meat's presence was so powerful and overwhelming it was unreal. Meat Loaf's sensitive and caring personality showed through with everyone that was there. It made the 1000 mile round trip from Kansas City, MO to Chicago absolutely worth it. Monica, the 4 kids, and I left KC, MO at 5 am that morning and did not get back there until 6:30 the next morning. It was definitely worth the 25 hour trip and all the time in the car with 4 kids. I even managed to plant a big kiss on his check before we left. I also got my picture taken with Meat. I had my arm around him and his was around me even though we were having to do it with him sitting on the other side of the table. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to get a Meet and Greet for the concert in St. Louis. By the way that is me in the black Meat Loaf shirt in the photos Weezie sent in. I cross stitched the shirt all by myself. I didn't get it finished until the day before the signing, but it was well worth the work.

First things First! WOW!!!!!!!! This experence has left me BREATHLESS-AH! I never really understood the impact that Meat had on anyone that had met him in person, but I now can say I fully understand, and feel as if I have joined an elite group.

Those of you that know me, please bare with me as I try to tell you about one of the greatest days of my life.

For weeks now I've had butterflies about meeting Meat Loaf, terrified that I was going to make a complete ass of myself when the time came to finally meet Meat. I was ,I guess 4th in line to meet him, but some people,(which I will leave unnamed) decided that I would go first. So I thought OK just do this and get it over,(the fear that is). When I got to Meat and gave him his Birthday present ,from Vee and I, and he took my hand, all my fears just melted away. How's that for magic?

He was so charming, warm, kind, thoughtful, and just as cute as a button, that I forgot about looking at him as my idol. He signed my books and cds, which I got quite a few, and then I asked if I could give him a kiss for all the RRG's, because I had promised, he didn't blink an eye , and said sure. There was a guy there that took our cameras and took the pics for us, well as luck would have it he had the digital camera and it has a delay on it(that's the pic already posted with me, after the first kiss) so I grabbed the old 35mm and looked at Meat and said we'll do it till we get it right, he just laughed. So one more time I puckered my lips and planted one on his cheek.Although the guys there were trying to rush us, Meat took time to chat for a moment with me, Chat is personal, and thanked me for buying the book and cds. Instead of being nervious this wonderful man made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

I walked away with a feeling that there was nothing in this world I couldn't do. Meat has such an energy within that flows freely to everything he touches, and I know this will sound strange to some, but after he touches you it somehow changes you inside unlike anything else can.

I know Meat was tired, and still he took time with everyone. He thanked everyone before they left the table he was at,and not a fake thank you but one that can from his heart. I hope that while reading all these Meaty reports you leave with the same feeling we all did, when meeting Meat. It's one that you will carry with you for the rest of your life, and you'll never look at things the same way again, as you did before.

The only sad part about the signing was not having ALL of you with me to share the moment and believe me when I say I thought of all of you! Vee! Dawn,Erin,Amanda,Lezlie,JackieO,Tena,Corp.Mickey, and let's not forget Sidekick, and all the rest. Oh and you to Queenie!!!! I wish you all could feel the way I do now that I've met the Big Guy.

This was a day I'll never forget.

He is just as CUTE AS A BUTTON!!!!!!

It was Great!! It was well worth the 2 Hours in line to talk to him for the few scant minutes. It was my second time meeting him. He was kidding around with the cameramen, from ABC WPVI Channel 6 and WTXF Fox 29, and with the fans. He seemed to be enjoying this more than we were. : ) There were between 300 and 500 people there. I can't wait for the concert, the man is just great!!!...MPizzano

  • Cleveland Book Signing

Well, mine adventure is more of a "nearly" a Meat encounter. Sunday mornig I loaded the family in the van to begin the quest. It was a 210 mile trip each way for me to drive to Westlake, OH where meat was appearing. The 4 hour dive was a challenge with my 4 kids in the back and their typical sibling rivalry. We finnaly arrived and I was shaking with anticipation. I'd waited 21 years for this chance. As I walked in the door it hit me that I was nmot going to get to meet Meat, but I was not ready to give up just yet. The line streched back and forth and across the store like a line for a ride at Disney Land. The word started to circulate that Meat was leaving soon because he had a plane to catch. "My God" I began to think, "I've come all this way for nothing." While waiting in line I heard someone calling, "Frank? Is Frank from Columbus here?" That is when I got to meet Peety. She is a wonderful woman. She shared her experience meeting Meat with me and I showed her the print out of the lovely tribute that Vee had done for my twins that we lost back in June that I was planning on having Meat sign, but now looked as if it was not going to happen. Peety says wait here a minite. A few minutes later a member of the book store, Dale was his name, comes up and asks me my story. I tell him everything and show him the tribute. Dale takes it and says let me see what I can do. A few minutes later Dale come back with my boys tribute signed!!!! He tells me Meat is so very sorry and he wishes us his best. Dale tells me He tried to get me back to see him, but with all the people there that were not going to get to see him they were afraid of what might happen if I waltzed to the front of this line from hell. I fully understood and thank Dale for getting Meats autograph for me and how much that meant. All was not lost. I walked outside and showed my wife the autograpgh and intoduced my wife to Peety. We didn't have much time to talk cause we both had long drives ahead of us (Peety drove all the way from Kentuky!!!). If Peety hadn't been there, all would have been in vein. She is a life saver and I want to that her for what she did for me and my family. THANKS PEETY FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!!....Frank

I agree with MPizzano,it was worth the wait to see Meatloaf in person,it was my first time to see him, besides on tv of course.I had a blast even though it was for a short time.My father also agrees with us.I am reading the book now.And listening to the VH1 storytellers CD.I cannot wait for the concert...Michelle S

It's hard to describe the emotions I was experiencing as I waited in line for my highly coveted time with Meat! Excitement was the forerunner, I suppose, mixed with a bit of just plain old nerves!

Then, once I looked into the eyes of "The Man", I was at first awed beyond words. But Meat quickly makes you feel quite comfortable in his presence. He was open, warm and friendly. And his sense of humor is wonderful.

He took interest in anyone and everyone who simply wanted to "shoot the breeze". And I'm sure most everyone felt as honored as I did to be spending a few moments with this special man. The wait in line was painless. There are always plenty of fellow fans who are more than willing to talk about Meat Loaf! And that makes the whole thing even more fun.

As for the event - well, it was, to me, everything I expected and even more! I was so nervous when I was next up in line, but Meat makes you feel SO comfortable! He is a sweetheart, too! He's open, friendly, and quite a funny guy. His good nature was shining through, I thought! It was a dream come true for me.

To the Mr. "So-and-So" who chose to scoff at me about my excitement in anticipation of meeting Meat Loaf, read my lips: IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST FANTASTIC EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD AND I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, ENTIRELY! NOW I GET TO LOOK FORWARD TO THE CONCERT!!

To all of you who have yet to go to a booksigning - HAVE YOURSELVES SOME FUN!!!!

Hi All.. I've been lurking on this list for awhile and really enjoy it! I finally got to meet Meat Loaf at his book signing in Westlake Ohio last Sunday and it was incredible!!! I didn't think I was going to get to see him let alone actually meet him!! (It was a great weekend, my tickets for the Cleveland concert arrived on Friday and Sunday...well..heheheh!!) If you'd like to see the picture of me and Meat here it is!!!!

I got to the book signing 20 minutes later then I wanted. But that is what I get for having my husband drive me. When I got there the line was already down the steps..I really don't do steps well & was a bit nervous at this point. But then I saw Patti Seratte at the top of the stairs. I took the escalator up to say Hi & Patti came to my rescue. she let me stand with her. Thanks Patti..While we waited for Meat they were playing the Storyteller CD They had the store decked out in Meat.. One thing Patti & I both noticed they had RHPS on the TV monitor in the kids book section..

Meat was brought in by some people from the local radio station. While the DJ talked a bit & did the intro's Meat was walking around a bit.

Then the time came to finally meet him. There were two ladies in front of us (who looked liked they were dressed up for a business meeting who ere very annoying ). When it was my turn this guy helping took my books & CD and handed them to Meat. While another guy took my camera, so he could take my Picture with Meat. I sure hope it comes out. While Meat was signing I finally got to tell him "Thank You Meat for saving my Life". At this point Meat asked if I had Low blood sugar( he must have seen my medical alert bracelet). I said No & told him very fast about my car doing the 360. Then I slipped in my 1999 tour book and asked if he would sign it..He saw I had Tom & Ray's autographs on it & I told him I went to a show they did this summer. From which Meat joked a bit..

Then I walked off to try and get more pictures. This Tower Record guy was trying to get me to move..But I was determined. Finally I told him I was taking the pictures for the fan club website. From which a women from Left Bank said "There are a lot of fan clubs" I said the one from by Gerri ..Then she said Okay, and I was allowed to keep taking pictures..

Before going I explained what I gave to Meat to this women from Left Bank in case Meat didn't understand part. Meat seemed a bit nervous..But considering book signings are very spontaneous (& not rehearsed ); it was easy to see were any person would be nervous.

Yeah, I went there too...it rocked...I was 2 feet away from Meat Loaf!!! He spoke to me! I spoke to him! Totally crazy, man! I think i'm still kinda in shock. It was totally fun though, and anyone who gets a chance to go to a signing should do so. I think the Tower Records employees were laughing at all us fans though.. ..Kat

Hi all, this is PeteyU in Louisville and this is the first time this week I've had time to write with school and my Mom is in the hospital. Went to Westlake last Sunday and it was great!!(My Mom said to tell Meat I had her permission to leave her alone!) It's about a 5 hour drive in which you can listen to BOOH,Dead Ringer,Blind,Midnight,BatII and Welcomein their entirity and rock and roll all the way! The drive was nice and it just got greener and greener the farthur north I went( we have had a drought here).I left here at 6:30a.m. and the closer I got the more excited i became. Thanks to Dale at Borders I had excellent directions and info. Got there at 12:00 with no problems. Hit the store first to pick up my CD and book and check out the line. Just a couple of folks there. Ate at their excellant coffeeshop. They were serving BOOH chili and PBTDBL punch!! too funny! The punch was good they passed out free samples to folks on line later. When I got in line there were maybe 20 people ahead which was really a good spot cause I know I'd get to see him and not being first gave you sometime to watch him with other folks and anticipate the moment. the wait just flew by, we chatted and compared Meatloaf collections. Turns out the guy right behind me in line was who I had beat out in the last Ebay auction for a shaped disc. Small Meat world,eh? We listened to the CD,we sang, we anticipated. Finally ,shortly after 3 there he was!!! It went smoothly and the people at Borders were friendly and organized. We weren't hurried. Got both things autographed(next time I'll take my Eddie jacket, they had said he would only sign the book and the CD but he was doing pix and stuff for folks!) I had on my "Id Lie for You" shirt and when it was my turn he said" I have a shirt just like that!" i said I'll bet you have a great collection"! and I thanked him for the great show at Chelsea Piers in June. He had something nice and personal to say to each person. After i got my autographs I stood to one side and took several more pix(soon to follow Vee!) and then walked the line asking for Frank from Columbus. Unfortunaely he had gotten there late and was near the end of the line,so he didn't get to see Meat. But I met Frank and his wife Robin and their boys. Every time I meet new Meatloaf people it's like old folks time. I've never met a fan who wasn't nice. Took a look at Lake Erie and headed home listening to "Storyteller's" On the way back this van passed me and there's Robin and Frank waving "goodbye"!! What a glorius Meaty day!!! Can't wait till the tour!!!...PeteyU

This tour is so different and full of surprises....the very essence of the show lies in not knowing what to expect. Every show is different!!!! Well, let me just say that to say this show is "unusual" is putting it mildly....VERY mildly. Go to the show!!!!!!!
Watch this space once the tour is over, for a zillion fan reviews!!!!!

Meat was in the flesh and on stage. I was so excited I felt dizzy. He is my absolute favorite rock perfomer, and I have loved him and his music since BOOH first came out. But with raising kids, working, etc. I had never seen him perform live before. The songs were terrific, the light show phenomenal. The talking was fun, but I would rather have heard a couple more songs. Though I didnt get to go up on stage, and I believed the signs that you couldn't take photos I was standing up and singing along with every song. it was one of the greatest nights of my life, almost as memorable as giving birth, more enjoyable than getting married, and I can't wait until I can get tickets for Meat's next concert.

I went to both Cleveland concerts on December 18 and 19 of 99. On the 19, I got the mike to ask a question, but before I could ask it, Meat Loaf started asking me about my clothes. To make a long story short, I ended up not asking my question, but I did get to walk down in front of the stage and he asked me my name. So I bought tickets for the Clearwater show online and drove the 23 hours (total of 46 hours). I was jumping up and down like a mad woman the whole night trying to get his attention to ask another question. So finally, I got the mike and he commented again on my choice of clothing (I was sure to wear something similar to what I wore at the Cleveland concert). He asked me my name and I said "Heidi," and he said to go ahead with my question. So I started by saying that I was at both of his Cleveland concerts. He interrupted me and said that he remembered me! The audience sort of laughed, not believing he really remembered me, but he said "What?! You don't think I know my Heidis?" And then I asked him my question. He had said at his Cleveland concerts that his favorite song was For Crying Out Loud, and that he didn't really sing it for about 20 years, so I wanted to know why. He told me it was because he could not find the right emotions to sing it or to do the song justice up until this tour. The audience went absolutely nuts when he asked if he should sing it, so he sang it and got a standing ovation. The concert (and the fact that he remembered me) was incredible!!!
