"REDBELLY AXEMAN"......does this title mean anything to us
batty Meat Loaf fans? It should...espically if we are
going to take Damon LaScot into our caves!!!

NYC's hard-driving music machine, REDBELLY, is where Damon
has made his musical home. If you have heard this band,
or know anything about it, you probably know the story
behind it's name. They use to be called "Tractor" but
because of a conflict with a country western band (as
if anyone could mix these two bands up!!) they became
REDBELLY, which is a special kind of tractor made by
Ford in the 40's and 50's.

What else you know, if you have heard REDBELLY, is that
the name completely encompasses the group!! Listening to
them, reminds one of a chain saw massacre, and the
musician highly responsible for this sound, is Damon
LaScot!!!

Damon got involved with REDBELLY about 3 years ago, when
he was a "hired gun" type of guitarist...pay for play.
A friend suggested he might fit in with this band. Damon
played all types of music, but at the time was more of
a R&B player. However, he listened to the band's music
and instantly liked it. REDBELLY's lineup then included:

KIRK HENRY, lead vocals;
EDDIE WOHL, rhythm guitar;
JAMES WURZBURG, drums;
JAMES FURAY, bass;
DAMON, lead and rhythm guitar

Their debut CD first cut, "Fire In The Hole", sounds a bit like Stone
Temple Pilots. Keep in mind that what they do, they do
well! This cut features an unconventional
version of Jimi Hendrix' solo from "All Along The
Watchtower". Tall order for any group!!! What we can hope
from this, is that Damon will bring some of this power
and unconventionalism along with him to the Neverland
Express! Perhaps, "The Neverland Express goes Seattle"
would be a proper introduction of Damon to the group!!

Damon started playing guitar when he was 13 after seeing
"The Song Remains the Same"
Damon thought Jimmy Page had to be "the coolest
guy on the planet". That sealed his destiny!
